Job Title: Unit Head – Green Economy & Climate Finance

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

• To provide strategic leadership and sector-specific expertise in the development, implementation and execution of Wema Bank’s Green Economy & Climate Finance strategy.
• The Unit Head will lead the origination, structuring, execution and management of banking relationships across the green economy ecosystem while positioning Wema Bank as the preferred financial partner for renewable energy developers, circular economy enterprises, climate technology companies, sustainable agriculture businesses and nature-based enterprises.

Job Details

• Serve as subject matter expert on Green Economy & Climate Finance.
• Drive business development across renewable energy, circular economy, climate technology and nature-based sectors.
• Lead development of green finance products and sustainability-linked solutions.
• Guide credit structuring, appraisal and post-disbursement monitoring.
• Maintain portfolio quality and profitability.
• Develop strategic partnerships with government agencies, DFIs and climate finance institutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Banking, Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental Management, Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Sustainability Studies, or a related field.
