Ardova Plc is a Nigerian leading indigenous and integrated energy company involved in the distribution of petroleum products. With an extensive network of over 450 retail outlets in Nigeria and significant storage facilities in Apapa, Lagos and Onne, Rivers State, we procure and distribute petrol (PMS), diesel (AGO), kerosene (DPK) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Our services also involve the manufacturing and distribution of a wide range of quality lubricants from our oil blending plant in Apapa, Lagos. These lubricants include: Super V, Visco 2000 and Diesel Motor Oil. We are also the sole authorised distributor of Shell branded Helix Engine Oils in Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: UI / UX Designer

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • The UI/UX Designer is responsible for creating intuitive, engaging, and user-centred experiences for the organisation’s digital products and applications.
  • The role holder will design and deliver high-quality user interface elements and experience flows for both internal and customer-facing platforms, ensuring that all digital touchpoints are optimised to enhance user satisfaction, improve usability, and strengthen the organisation’s brand perception.
  • Working with key stakeholders, the UI/UX Designer will translate business requirements and user needs into compelling design solutions across web and mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design intuitive and visually compelling user interface (UI) elements, including screens, menus, input controls, widgets, and navigation flows, for both internal and customer-facing web and mobile applications.
  • Develop design deliverables including wireframes, user flows, mockups, interactive prototypes, user personas, customer journey maps, storyboards, and sitemaps.
  • Conduct and contribute to user research and usability testing activities to identify UX issues, validate design decisions, and inform iterative improvements.
  • Collaborate with product/project manager, process owners, business analyst, and development teams to ensure accurate and faithful implementation of designs throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Participate actively in requirement gathering sessions, design critiques, and project debriefs, incorporating feedback to refine and improve design outputs.
  • Prepare and present design concepts, prototypes, and rationale clearly to internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Define and track usability metrics and contribute to the ongoing measurement and optimisation of application ease of use and overall user experience.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the organisation’s design system, ensuring consistency in UI components, patterns, and brand guidelines across all digital products.
  • Apply accessibility standards and best practices (e.g., WCAG) to ensure digital products are inclusive and usable by diverse audiences.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and quality of design outputs.
  • Stay current with emerging design trends, tools, and technologies, applying relevant developments to continuously improve the quality and innovation of design work.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a 2.2 in Information Technology, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Communications, Design, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as Google UX Design Professional Certificate, Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF) Certifications, Nielsen Norma Group (NN/g) UX or equivalent are an advantage.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in UI/UX design, product design, or a related role.
  • A portfolio showcasing UX/UI projects and demonstrating design process, problem-solving approach, and outcomes.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Solid understanding of UX design principles, user-centred design methodologies, and information architecture.
  • Familiarity with user research methods and usability testing techniques
  • Proficiency in design tools, including Figma, Adobe XD or InVision.
  • Experience with collaborative design and whiteboarding tools (e.g., Miro, Mural, FigJam).
  • Experience with wireframing, prototyping, and interaction design for web and mobile applications.
  • Working knowledge of design systems and component libraries.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles (e.g., WCAG 2.1)
  •  Basic understanding of front-end web technologies (HTML and CSS)
  • Awareness of AI tools and their application for design.
  • Understanding of agile and iterative product development processes.
