We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Truck Driver

Location: Ijebu, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our logistics team.
  • You will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining vehicle safety, and adhering to all road transport regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cargo Transport: Transport goods, raw materials, or heavy equipment safely over local, regional, or long-distance routes.
  • Vehicle Inspection: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (checking tires, brakes, oil, lights, and fuel) to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Loading & Unloading: Oversee or assist with the loading and secure tie-down of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
  • Route Planning: Plan optimal routes using GPS navigation to meet tight delivery deadlines while minimizing fuel consumption.
  • Documentation & Logs: Complete and maintain accurate delivery receipts, waybills, mileage logs, and fuel expense records.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Perform basic preventative maintenance and report any major mechanical defects or safety issues immediately to management.
  • Safety & Compliance: Strict adherence to speed limits, traffic laws, weight restrictions, and safety protocols at all times.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Minimum of SSCE / GCE / NECO or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a heavy truck driver or long-distance logistics driver.
  • Licensing: Valid Commercial Class Driver’s License (e.g., Class E/G) with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of local road networks, interstate routes, vehicle maintenance, and traffic regulations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong spatial awareness and safe heavy-vehicle maneuverability.
  • Time management and problem-solving skills to navigate unexpected traffic or weather delays.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to handle long hours on the road.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and clients.

Salary
N150,000 per month.
