Job Title: Transport Manager

Location: Agbara, Ogun

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee and coordinate all transport-related activities within our manufacturing operations.
  • This role is responsible for managing a fleet that includes pool vehicles, expatriate-assigned vehicles, and shift-based driver operations.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong logistics experience, exceptional people management skills, and a keen understanding of vehicle scheduling, maintenance, and regulatory compliance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the company’s fleet of vehicles, including pool vehicles and assigned cars. Ensure optimal allocation, utilisation, and maintenance of all transport assets.
  • Manage a team of shift-based drivers, including scheduling, attendance, performance evaluation, and ensuring compliance with company driving policies and standards.
  • Coordinate periodic maintenance, servicing, licensing, and insurance of all vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with local transportation laws and safety standards.
  • Plan and coordinate daily vehicle movements to meet operational demands of the plant, including Staff pick-ups/drop-offs, supply chain logistics support, and ad hoc transportation requests.
  • Monitor and control transport-related costs, including fuel consumption, repairs, and third-party services. Recommend cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle logs, fuel usage, servicing, and incidents. Prepare and submit weekly/monthly transport reports to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Proven experience managing a diverse fleet and shift-based driver teams.
  • Solid understanding of fleet tracking systems, route planning, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Good knowledge of transportation laws, road safety standards, and government regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to dynamic operational needs.

Salary
Negotiable.
