Job Title: Trainee Raw Milk Operator

Summary

• The Trainee Raw Milk Operator will undergo practical training in CIP, the safe and efficient handling, raw milk reception, testing, storage, and transfer of raw milk under the supervision of experienced operators and develop the knowledge and skills required to operate raw milk processing and handling equipment independently especially when shift required while maintaining product quality, hygiene, and safety standards.

Responsibilties

• Assist the experienced operator in receiving, handling and cleaning of raw milk processing area and related equipment.
• Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for raw milk reception, storage, transfer and cleaning of all the required equipment
• Assist with checking the received raw milk quantities, temperatures, tank levels, milk condition, and delivery information.
• Learn how to operate pumps, valves, pipelines, milk storage tanks, and related equipment under supervision for effective productivity.
• Assist with collecting and handling milk samples for quality testing at every delivery to enhance product compliance.
• Monitor equipment and report unusual sounds, leaks, temperature changes, or other abnormalities to the senior operator/ supervisor.
• Assist in transferring raw milk from tankers to storage silos and between processing areas where required as instructed.
• Participate in cleaning and sanitation of tanks, pipelines, pumps, equipment, and work environment.
• Complete all documentation and other production records accurately under his supervision.
• Follow all food safety, quality, health and safety requirements and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all time.
• Learn basic equipment troubleshooting and understand when to escalate faults to the supervisor.
• Assist with stocks, material, and chemical checks related to cleaning and milk-handling operations.

Critical Qualifications / Skills / Experiene

• Minimum of an OND in Food Science, Dairy Technology, Microbiology, Agricultural Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
