Job Title: Trade Finance Manager

Job Summary

• The Trade Finance Manager will oversee all trade finance activities, including letters of credit, guarantees, import/export documentation, and relationships with financial institutions.
• The ideal candidate must demonstrate deep expertise in trade finance instruments, credit risk management, and international banking operations, while ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the company’s trade finance operations, including letters of credit (LCs), bills for collection, bank guarantees, and other trade instruments.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international banks to support financing needs and negotiate favorable terms.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with international trade regulations, foreign exchange guidelines, and internal policies.
• Advise management on trade-related risks and provide mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with procurement, legal, and operations teams to facilitate seamless import/export transactions.
• Review and validate all trade finance documents for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor financial exposure, ensure timely settlement of trade obligations, and manage liquidity requirements.
• Prepare periodic reports and forecasts on trade finance activities, exposures, and costs.
• Identify opportunities to optimize financing structures, improve cash flow efficiency, and reduce transaction costs.
• Stay updated on market trends, exchange rate movements, and international banking practices affecting trade finance.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CITF, CTFP, CFA, ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in trade finance, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role within a reputable bank or an oil & gas sector.
• In-depth knowledge of international trade finance instruments, UCP 600, ISBP, INCOTERMS, and cross-border transactions.
• Proven experience managing relationships with banks, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to thrive under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle.Odoo).
