We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Dispute Resolution (Team Lead)

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Job Schedule: Full time

Job Descriptiom

  • We are seeking an experienced lawyer to join Palmpay. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the Company’s litigation profile and provide general legal advisory to the Company.
  • This position requires a deep understanding of litigation, alternative dispute resolution, risk mitigation in the financial industry, and the laws and regulations that govern it.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the Company’s litigation profile
  • Oversee and manage the company’s litigation portfolio
  • Monitor ongoing litigation and ensure timely and effective resolution
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel as necessary to represent the company in litigation proceedings.
  • Mitigate the company’s litigation risk exposure
  • Identify potential litigation risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Liaise with relevant departments in the company to implement risk mitigation measures
  • Provide guidance on compliance with regulatory requirements to minimize litigation exposure
  • Research and review relevant laws and regulations
  • Manage all court processes received by the Company
  • Draft, review and negotiate Admin Agreements and other legal documents
  • Provide legal advice, guidance and recommendations to the Company on various matters
  • Monitor legal developments and advise on the implications for the organization
  • Collaborate with Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) as necessary and assist with any legal matters related to law enforcement inquiries or investigation eg Police, EFCC, Interpol, NDLEA etc.
  • Maintain proper records of all legal documents and data

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Certificate of Call to Bar
  • 6-8 years relevant legal experience
  • Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 6 years post-call experience, preferably in litigation.
  • Knowledge of commercial, corporate and financial laws
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
