Job Title: Tax Officer

Job Summary

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Officer to support our tax compliance and reporting processes.
• The ideal candidate will assist in ensuring adherence to tax regulations while contributing to accurate filings and documentation.
• This role is ideal for early-career professionals looking to grow their expertise in corporate taxation within a structured finance environment.

Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Filing:

• Assist in preparing and filing tax returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.)
• Ensure timely remittance of all tax obligations
• Maintain accurate tax records and documentation.

Audit & Support:

• Support during tax audits and regulatory reviews
• Assist in responding to tax queries and notices
• Monitor compliance with applicable tax laws.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Prepare basic tax reports and schedules
• Maintain tax compliance calendar and deadlines
• Support reconciliation of tax accounts.

Collaboration:

• Work with HR and Finance teams on payroll tax matters
• Support internal teams with tax-related information.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 2–5 years experience in tax, accounting, or audit
• Professional certification (CITN, ACA, or ACCA – in view or partly completed is an advantage)
• Basic knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting tools.
