Job Title: Supervisor, Earth Work

Location: Mokwa, Niger
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • As an Earth Work Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating earthwork activities related to construction and maintenance projects.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in earthwork operations, project management, and a commitment to ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with project managers to develop earthwork plans and schedules.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of earthwork activities into overall project timelines.

Site Preparation:

  • Supervise the preparation of construction sites, including excavation, grading, and leveling.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and design requirements.

Equipment Management:

  • Oversee the utilization and maintenance of earthmoving equipment.
  • Coordinate equipment inspections and repairs to minimize downtime.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and motivate a team of earthwork operators and laborers.
  • Provide guidance and training to ensure safe and efficient work practices.

Quality Control:

  • Implement quality control measures to ensure earthwork meets established standards.
  • Conduct inspections to identify and address issues promptly.

Safety Compliance:

  • Enforce and promote a culture of safety on construction sites.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Material Management:

  • Monitor the use of materials, ensuring appropriate quantities are available.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and storage.

Communication:

  • Communicate regularly with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide progress updates and report any issues or delays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in earthwork supervision within the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of earthmoving equipment and construction techniques.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
