  • Liaise with the General Counsel to carry out other tasks incidental to the Board, such as organizing training programs for Directors, holding of Board Retreats, Board welfare issues, etc.

  • Identify risks, manage tax exposures, and mitigate tax risks by providing tax planning, structuring, and highlighting tax implications
  • Produce Tax Advisory reports to the Head Tax Planning & Advisory
  • Carry out any other assigned tasks
  • Execute tax planning and reduction of tax liabilities.

Educational Qualification

  • First Degree or its equivalent in Social Science preferably in Accounting, Economics, Banking & Finance or Insurance or related fields
  • A Master’s degree is an added advantage
  • Certification in Professional membership of any of the relevant body e.g. ACA, ACCA, ANAN, CFA, CIS, CITN, NIM

Competence

  • Knowledge of relevant tax legislation
  • FIRS circulars
  • Commercial Orientation
  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry
  • High level communication
  • IT skills

Experience

  • Minimum of 9 years relevant post qualification experience Experience in the oil and gas industry will be an added advantage.

  • Create and submit periodic audit/compliance reports for MD, NNPC Properties Limited
  • Identify threats and risks to the company
  • Access, manage company risks.
  • Monitor the implementation of corresponding mitigating controls for identified risks.
  • Ensure NPL’s risk register is up-to-date.
  • Develop, implement, manage and improve quality and compliance programmes for NPL.
  • Monitor NPL’s compliance and improve business processes and operations through application of internal and external audits recommendations
  • Develop periodic audit/compliance reports for NPL Management.

Educational Qualification

  • First Degree or its equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Social Sciences, Sciences, Engineering or other relevant disciplines
  • Professional qualification, certification and membership of at least one professional body e.g. ICAN, ANAN, PMP, NIM, NIESB, AIAE, CIA etc
