Talent Manager

The Talent Manager plays a critical role in the management and development of talent within the organization. This position is responsible for identifying, developing, and retaining high-performing employees, ensuring that the organization has the talent needed to achieve its strategic goals. The Talent Manager will work closely with the Head HAM and department heads to create and implement effective talent management strategies.

Job Description

  • Liaise with the Head of HR for the implementation of talent management policies and procedures with specific emphasis on career and performance management, learning and development.
  • Oversee all career management activities in DCT and provide required guidance to staff in the execution of daily tasks and activities.
  • Coordinate the DCT performance management process, obtain approval for and communicate key outcomes.
  • Monitor the performance assessment process within DCT, ensuring that appraisal and feedback from supervisors are completed in line with an agreed schedule.
  • Drive compliance with group approved system for staff mentorship to promote professional interaction and facilitate the achievement of staff career development objectives.
  • Oversee the identification of relevant career opportunities for staff in collaboration with functional and department heads.
  • Coordinate and drive necessary actions on recommendations/ decisions regarding employee appointments, redeployments, relief assignments and promotions across the country.
  • Oversee the provision of approved staff performance results/ information on promotion to the Compensation & Benefits unit for expenditure analysis and necessary incorporation.
  • Oversee collation and review of learning and development requirements for employees across job grades and functions to ensure alignment with job competency requirements and identify performance gaps.
  • Ensure optimal adoption of approved training curricula and plans for DCT.
  • Review (or recommend for management approval) changes to relevant training documents such as curriculum, schedule and plan.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with learning and development policies, procedures and schedules in DCT.
  • Participate in the evaluation of third-party training providers and make selection recommendations to the Head of HR & Administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of HAM & Administration

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in any discipline.
  • Master’s degree in an HR-related discipline.
  • Professional qualification in HR Management e.g. Senior Professional in HR (SPHR), Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience.

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the components of the following HR process areas: Performance Management, Reward and Recognition, and Employee Retention.

Sustainability Manager

Job Summary

The role supports the Head of Sustainability in developing standards that embed sustainability and the integration of ESG for:

  • Clear articulation of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) KPIs and targets.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders for the communication of ESG developments.
  • Continuous improvement through tracking, documentation and measurement of ESG KPI’s.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with diverse functions and Plant operations to execute sustainability performance enhancement goals and targets; and effectively monitor and measure progress.
  • Set short, medium, and long-term sustainability targets for the company, including developing strategies for environmentally friendly products and services, social responsibility and compliance with relevant institutions and the government.
  • Promote the organisation’s sustainability philosophy to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute stakeholder engagements, materiality assessment initiatives and generate reports and response action plan as required.
  • Coordinate development of sustainability report content and certifications in accordance with reporting frameworks like the International Financial Reporting Standards Sustainability Standards (IFRS S1 and S2), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), CDP etc.
  • Manage the implementation of sustainability campaigns and ESG initiatives with measurable impact.
  • Coordinate Sustainability Leads and champions in Plants by supporting their capacity building and delivery of performance targets.
  • Coordinate and support the operationalisation of the organisation’s sustainability approach/policy across all business operations through internal and externally facilitated sustainability trainings, workshops, and other initiatives.

Key Requirements 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Sustainability or Environment related field.
  • Advanced degree in sustainability related field.
  • Work Experience
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of proven experience in Corporate Sustainability function in a large organisation, preferably in a multi-national setting.
  • Strong skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and internet research
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Sustainability Reporting using global reporting standards
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills (remain open to others’ ideas, exhibits willingness to try new approaches)

Deputy General Manager, Mechanical

Description

  • We are seeking for Deputy General Manager of Mechanical Maintenance – Cement Plant to oversee the maintenance of the plant.
  • The chosen candidate will work alongside a dedicated team of professionals in the construction industry to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the maintenance team responsible for maintaining the plant.
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure preventative maintenance programs are in place and followed.
  • Manage budget and work with procurement to ensure materials and equipment are available as needed.
  • Develop strategies and plans to replace and upgrade older machinery and equipment.
  • Create reports detailing maintenance activity to senior management.
  • Ensure the plant is compliant with all regulations and safety policies.

Requirements

  • BSc / HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Ability to lead and manage a team of maintenance personnel.
  • knowledge of SAP and other MS Software.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suites.
  • Experience with budget management, procurement, and inventory control.

  • Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role with strong team coordination and decision-making skills.
  • Deep technical understanding of mechanical systems and processes in cement production.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex maintenance challenges.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound knowledge of HSE regulations, reliability engineering, and maintenance best practices.
