Job Title: Subject Teacher 

Location: Artillery, Rupokwu, Rumahoglu, Woji and GRA – Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Summary

• The Subject Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating lessons in their assigned subject area in line with the school curriculum.
• The teacher will create a positive learning environment that promotes students’ academic growth, discipline, and character development.

Key Responsibilities
Lesson Planning & Delivery:

• Prepare detailed lesson plans in line with the approved curriculum.
• Deliver engaging and interactive lessons.
• Use appropriate teaching methods and instructional materials.

Student Assessment:

• Set classwork, assignments, tests, and examinations.
• Mark and grade students’ work promptly.
• Keep accurate records of students’ academic performance.

Classroom Management:

• Maintain discipline and order in the classroom.
• Create a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Encourage student participation and critical thinking.

Curriculum Implementation:

• Follow the approved scheme of work.
• Ensure syllabus coverage within the academic term.
• Participate in curriculum review when required.

Student Support:

• Identify students with learning difficulties and provide support.
• Offer academic guidance and mentoring.
• Communicate student progress to parents when necessary.

Professional Development:

• Attend staff meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
• Stay updated with developments in the subject area.
• Collaborate with other teachers and school management.

Administrative Duties:

• Maintain lesson notes and attendance records.
• Submit reports as required by school management.
• Participate in school events and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of B.Ed., B.Sc. + PGDE, or relevant degree in the subject area.
• TRCN certification (where applicable).
• Minimum of 1–2 years teaching experience (preferred).
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Good knowledge of the relevant curriculum.

 Salary
N50,000 – N100,000 per month.
