Job Title: Speech Therapist (In-House Support for Child with Autism)

Job Description

• We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech Therapist to support the speech, language, and communication development of a young female child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
• The role involves providing structured speech therapy sessions and implementing evidence-based communication strategies in a home-based environment while collaborating with the child’s school facilitator, parents, and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct speech and language assessments to identify communication challenges.
• Develop and implement individualized speech therapy plans.
• Support verbal and non-verbal communication development.
• Implement communication tools such as PECS, AAC, and other autism-friendly communication strategies.
• Improve articulation, expressive language, receptive language, and social communication skills.
• Collaborate with parents, educators, and therapists to support consistent communication strategies.
• Track progress and provide regular reports on therapy outcomes.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, Speech Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children with autism or developmental delays.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of speech and language development in children with ASD.
• Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems such as PECS.
• Knowledge of autism-focused intervention approaches.
• Strong behavioral observation and assessment skills.
• Ability to design and implement individualized therapy plans.
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with parents, educators, and caregivers.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Professional certification in Speech and Language Therapy.
• Training in Autism intervention strategies.
• ABA-related communication training or similar professional development.
