Job Title: Site Engineer Assistant / Intern

About the Role

• We are looking to engage a detailed, proactive, and process-driven individual to serve as an Assistant / Intern Site Engineer.
• This role is ideal for an engineering or building graduate who possesses a strong grasp of construction principles, technical accuracy, structural drawings, and on-site execution supervision.
• The successful candidate will assist in day-to-day site operations, supervise artisans and sub-contractors, monitor material usage, ensure structural compliance, and support project reporting.
• You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced field environment, possess strong technical interpretation skills, and demonstrate high discipline regarding site safety and structural integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager/Lead Engineer in setting out, supervising daily construction operations, and ensuring work aligns with approved structural drawings and specifications.
• Perform routine quality control checks on construction materials (concrete mixes, rebar spacing, plastering sand, blockwork), keeping detailed site logs and testing records.
• Monitor material deliveries, track daily inventory usage, and log labor force attendance on site.
• Assist in site measurements, work progress evaluations, material requisitions, and daily/weekly site progress reporting.
• Enforce strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, site discipline, and operational procedures among workers and sub-contractors.
• Coordinate routine site inspections with consultants, sub-contractors, and quality control agents to resolve technical issues quickly.

Requirements

• B.Sc. or HND in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or related field with a Minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) / Upper Credit.
• Graduate membership of COREN, NSE, or NIOB (or ongoing registration steps) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 1 year Post-NYSC hands-on experience in building construction, structural site supervision, or site engineering operations.
• Proficiency in reading structural/architectural drawings, basic AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) for reporting.
• Strong problem-solving, spatial interpretation, and communication skills to direct site labor effectively.
• Solid understanding of construction materials, concrete grades, rebar bending schedules (BBS), and site health & safety rules.

Location Preference:

• Applicants should reside within or around Ojota, Ikeja, Ketu, Palmgrove, Maryland, Gbagada, Oworonshoki, Yaba, Bariga, Oshodi, Ilupeju, Mushin, or nearby areas in Lagos.

Compensation
N180,000 monthly
