Job Title: IT Service Engineer

Job Summary

• The IT Service Engineer is responsible for providing frontline technical support, maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure, and ensuring the seamless operation of network systems and databases.
• This role focuses on resolving incidents efficiently, monitoring system health, and supporting ntel’s digital services to ensure business continuity and end-user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Support: Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for hardware, software, and enterprise applications (including Microsoft 365 and Active Directory) across the organization.
• Network Maintenance: Assist in configuring and monitoring LAN/WAN infrastructure, basic routing/switching, and enterprise firewalls.
• Database Management: Perform routine database administration tasks, including writing SQL queries, monitoring database performance, and executing data backups.
• System Administration: Manage user identities, endpoint provisioning, and basic Linux/Windows OS maintenance.
• Incident Management: Log, track, and resolve IT incidents and service requests within established SLAs using enterprise helpdesk tools.
• Infrastructure Monitoring: Proactively monitor network performance and database health to identify and mitigate potential bottlenecks.
• Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, network configurations, and standard operating procedures.

Qualification & Experience

• BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Membership of relevant professional bodies is an advantage.
• 1-2 years’ experience including hands-on experience with networking fundamentals (routing, switching, LAN/WAN), practical experience in database management and running SQL queries, solid understanding of OS fundamentals (Windows, Linux), and experience providing IT technical support.
• Knowledge of IT Software management
• Familiarity with Telecommunications BSS/OSS environments is an advantage
• Professional Certification: ITIL, CCNA, or relevant Microsoft/Oracle /Database certifications are an added advantage.
