Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer – Light Motors Section

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Light Motors section is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of light motor vehicles and related systems.
  • This role involves leading a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring that all projects related to vehicle performance, safety, and efficiency are completed on time and meet industry standards.
  • The engineer will provide technical expertise in mechanical systems, manage project timelines, and collaborate with other departments to enhance product design and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in cars.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections.
  • Lead a team of truck mechanics.
  • Train and mentor technicians.
  • Develop and implement maintenance programs to improve fleet reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with parts and service teams to ensure efficient repair processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and manufacturer updates.

Requirements

  • B.Eng / Higher National Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-secondary training in car operations and repair or a related field.
  • ASE Master Technician certification (or equivalent).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • 7+ years of experience as a car engineer.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience with fleet maintenance and repair operations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic software and tools.
  • Manufacturer-specific training programs (e.g.Toyota, Ford, Honda).
  • Advanced diagnostic and repair courses.
  • Leadership and management training.
  • Safety training and certification (e.g. OSHA).

Salary
N350,000 – N400,000 monthly.
