Job Title: Senior Marketing Manager

Location: Lagos, with regular travel as required.

Job Description

• They are seeking an experienced Senior Marketing Manager to lead brand development, consumer engagement and product launches across packaged food categories.
• The successful candidate will develop practical marketing plans that increase brand awareness, encourage product trial and repeat purchases, and deliver measurable commercial results.
• The role requires a strong understanding of the Nigerian consumer goods market, particularly packaged food products, as well as the ability to coordinate marketing activities, manage agencies and work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement brand strategies that support business growth and strengthen market positioning.
• Manage the brand portfolio and identify opportunities to improve brand awareness, consumer engagement and sales performance.
• Conduct consumer research and market analysis to understand customer needs, preferences and purchasing behaviour.
• Support product development, packaging decisions and the introduction of new products.
• Plan and coordinate product launches, consumer activations and promotional campaigns.
• Manage relationships with advertising agencies, creative partners and other marketing service providers.
• Coordinate digital marketing activities and other communication channels to reach target consumers.
• Prepare and manage marketing budgets, monitor expenditure and evaluate campaign effectiveness.
• Track marketing performance and provide reports with practical recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with Sales, Commercial and other teams to ensure marketing activities support business objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve marketing efficiency and deliver results within available resources.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications are an advantage.
• Typically 8 to 12 years of relevant FMCG marketing experience, including at least three years managing brands, product launches, agencies or teams.
• Experience in the Nigerian packaged food or consumer goods market is strongly preferred.
• Experience with seasonings, snacks, breakfast products or related packaged food categories is an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience planning and executing successful product launches.
• Good understanding of the Nigerian general trade environment and consumer purchasing behaviour.
• Experience managing agencies, consumer research, packaging projects, marketing budgets and field activations.
• Familiarity with digital marketing and integrated marketing campaigns.
• Strong communication, analytical, planning and coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a growing business with limited resources while maintaining high standards.
• High integrity, sound judgement and a results-oriented approach.

Remuneration and Benefits

• Salary: N120,000 – N150,000 per month.
• A competitive compensation package within the organisation’s approved structure.
• Performance bonuses may be available, subject to company policy and agreed performance targets.
