The Nutritious Agrifuture Nigeria Ltd/GTE (NAFN) is a local entity of HarvestPlus Solutions based in Nigeria. Its principal mandate is to scale up the delivery and adoption of biofortified and nutritious crops and foods across Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Finance, Grants & Contract Manager

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership for HPS Nigeria and serve as a trusted advisor to senior management.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, burn-rate analysis, and financial performance monitoring.
• Manage the complete grant lifecycle including proposal budgets, award setup, implementation, reporting, amendments, and closeout.
• Lead subcontract and subaward financial management including budget reviews, due diligence, payment reviews, partner monitoring, reconciliations, and financial closeout.
• Ensure compliance with donor, HPS, IFPRI, and local regulatory requirements, including financial policies and cost allowability.
• Strengthen internal controls through segregation of duties, approval workflows, fraud prevention measures, and risk assessments.
• Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships, liquidity management, foreign currency transactions, and payment approvals.
• Coordinate external audits, donor audits, financial reviews, and corrective action implementation.
• Lead process improvement initiatives, including automation, financial systems, dashboards, SOP development, and workflow optimization.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop finance and grants staff while promoting accountability and high performance.
• Build collaborative relationships with HPS headquarters, IFPRI, NAF Nigeria, donors, implementing partners, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field with at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience; or Bachelor’s degree with at least 15 years of relevant experience.
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, ACA, CMA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
• Extensive experience managing finance, grants, contracts, and donor-funded projects in international NGOs or development organizations.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, subaward management, budgeting, financial reporting, treasury, audits, and internal controls.
• Experience supervising multidisciplinary finance or grants teams.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Internal: CFO, CEO, COO, Program Directors, Project Managers, HPS Finance, IFPRI Finance.
• External: NAF Nigeria, implementing partners, donors, banks, external auditors, consultants, and government agencies.
