Job Title: Senior Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, coordinate and direct all network operations and maintenance activities.
• Ensure network availability and health.
• Supervise field engineers, technicians and contractors.
• Maintain network quality of service (QoS) and QoE.
• Ensure the reliability and integrity of transmission backbone and access network.
• Oversee maintenance of the power and cooling system.
• Ensure timely escalations and issue resolution.
• Drive end-to-end process documentation.
• Ensure implementation and compliance with all processes, procedures and policies.
• Conduct periodic audits of field operations.
• Coach and mentor site staff members.
• Coordinate operations teams to meet customer SLAs.
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance for all nodes in the region.
• Ensure efficient mobilization of the field force.
• Manage database, configuration management, change management and quality audit databases (network-wide).
• Conduct regular performance reviews of engineers.
• Lead implementation of technical initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety codes and regulations.
• Oversee proper installation and acceptance of network equipment.
• Plan and coordinate network rollout.
• Ensure the use of recommended test tools and enforce industry best practices.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Minimum of Second Class Upper in Physics, Electrical / Electronics, CSE, Mechanical, Structural, Computer, Telecommunication Engineering or any other related field.
• Master’s Degree in Engineering is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in operations and maintenance, including at least 3 years in GSM / network companies (Telecoms environment).
• Expert in Mobile Network O & M practices and standards.
• Strong project management methodologies.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and presentation skills.
