Job Title: Senior Associate, Partners and Engagement

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Purpose of Position

  • Associates for Partner Engagement and Communications for the LBS Sustainability Centre is responsible for implementing a range of internal and external strategic communication and stakeholder engagement and provides specialist advice and services across community consultation, customer information, issues management and digital strategies that champion sustainability initiatives of Lagos Business School at large.
  • The Centre should be known for advancing corporate sustainability thinking, practice and delivery in Nigeria and Africa intellectually and practically.
  • Therefore, the ideal candidate should carry out their tasks with the aim of communicating the activities and outputs of the LBS Sustainability Centre’s projects across all traditional and new media platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Implement communications and publicity plans for the Center’s projects and activities through various mediums, media and social media platforms.
  • Prepare press releases, writeups and posts which showcase the Center’s activities to various stakeholder groups – partners, donors, participants, academic community etc
  • Organise and attend stakeholders’ engagement and promotional events.
  • Stay up-to-date with local, national and international affairs relating to sustainability and sustainable development
  • Keep Centre’s communication platforms content up to date on the project websites, webpages, Facebook and Twitter sites
  • Develop organic and paid search engine optimisation plans for the Center’s programmes and events.
  • Repurpose video content for dissemination and engagement proposes as well as community building
  • Build a community of followers comprised of sustainability professionals and potential funders
  • Develop strategies to increase traffic and engagement on the website and social media platforms,
  • Attend meetings with and manage relationships with LBS stakeholders and member organisations
  • Develop proposals, concept notes for grant projects, forums and programme recommendations to decision-makers
  • Manage partners and fundraising for centre conferences and stakeholder forums planning, financial management and reporting centre programmes
  • Collaborate with the project team to brainstorm story ideas and develop an editorial calendar for activities of the Centre.
  • Monitor, document, and report the Centre’s progress in Annual reports, multimedia publications etc
  • Monitor, document, advise and report on ongoing improvement in the school’s sustainability and responsibility performance in line with LBS strategy and objectives and the UN Principles for Responsible Management (PRME).
  • Contribute to reports and support external communication on LBS’ sustainability and responsible management achievements and initiatives (keynote speech, conference presentations)
  • Support deliverables of various hosted initiatives at the Sustainability Centre.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate training and membership in a related professional body is an advantage.
  • Postgraduate/ Master Degree is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience, preferably in a think-tank, research institute, or consulting/advisory firm.

Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to edit content development – text and multimedia content

  • Comfortable with web platforms and e-communications tools
  • Copywriting Skills
  • Public Speaking
  • Ability to generate engaging content on social media
  • Ability to speak to designs of publicity materials
  • Strong reporting and presentation skills
  • Project or Programme Management
  • Creativity and Amiableness
  • Report Development and Designing.
