Job Title: Senior Accountant (Projects)

Locations: Akure – Ondo, Shagamu – Ogun, and Ikom – Akwa Ibom

Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Accountant with strong project accounting experience to join our team. The ideal candidate must be an ICAN-qualified professional with a proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, and project finance management. Experience within manufacturing, logistics, fleet management, or project-based environments will be an added advantage.
• The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial performance, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support operational and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting:

• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements.
• Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Manage general ledger activities and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
• Support the preparation of management accounts and business performance reports.

Project Accounting & Cost Management:

• Oversee project accounting activities, including budgeting, cost allocation, forecasting, and expenditure tracking.
• Monitor project financial performance and provide recommendations for cost optimization and profitability improvement.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights on project and operational costs.
• Collaborate with project, operations, logistics, and production teams to ensure alignment between financial data and project deliverables.

Compliance & Internal Controls
Systems & Business Support:

• Utilize ERP and accounting systems such as SAP for financial transactions and reporting.
• Provide management with financial insights, reports, and recommendations for operational improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Professional Qualification

• ICAN qualification is mandatory.

Experience

• Minimum of 7–10 years’ relevant accounting experience.
• Proven experience in project accounting, budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Prior exposure to manufacturing, logistics, fleet operations, or project-driven environments is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial analysis, reporting, and modeling.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning capabilities.

Competencies:

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
