Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Summary

• We are hiring an experienced Senior Accountant to manage the financial operations of a multi-business retail group, including pharmacies, supermarkets, and hair & beauty salons.
• The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and providing financial insights to support business decisions.

Job Description

• Prepare and review financial statements; manage month-end and year-end close.
• Maintain general ledger, reconciliations, and cash-flow management.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, corporate tax).
• Oversee stock controls, procurement processes, and internal audit frameworks.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and manage risk improvements.
• Supervise junior accounting staff and support management with financial insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Mandatory retail experience (supermarkets, pharmacies, or similar).
• ACA, ACCA, or ICAN certification.
• 5–7 years’ experience, including at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and accounting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
