Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with strong experience in the FMCG sector, project accounting, and operational finance to join our team in Port Harcourt.
• The ideal candidate must have proven accounting experience within the FMCG industry, with strong exposure to project accounting, budgeting, cost management, financial reporting, and business performance analysis.
• Experience working across fleet / logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or other FMCG-related operations will be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and financial statements for project-based and operational activities.
• Support project accounting functions, including budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Monitor the financial performance of ongoing projects and provide actionable insights to improve cost control and profitability.
• Collaborate with operations, logistics, production, procurement, and commercial teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment with business objectives.
• Prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Analyze operational and project costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
• Monitor revenue, expenses, inventory-related costs, and other key financial performance indicators.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, company policies, and applicable accounting standards.
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing accurate documentation and resolving audit queries promptly.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Utilize ERP/accounting systems such as SAP for transaction processing, reporting, and financial analysis.
• Prepare financial analysis and management reports to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Support management in budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and financial performance reviews.
• Maintain proper documentation and financial controls across all accounting activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ICAN qualified or at an advanced stage — Mandatory.
• 7–10 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Must have proven accounting experience within the FMCG sector.
• Strong experience in project accounting, budgeting, cost tracking, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
• Experience in logistics, fleet operations, distribution, manufacturing, or other FMCG-related environments is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience with SAP or other ERP / accounting systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial analysis, reporting, and modelling.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and statutory compliance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Salary
N500,000 – N650,000 monthly.
