Job Title: Security Officer / Security Guard

Location: Gaduwa, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time / Shift-based
Reports To: CSO

Job Summary

• The Security Officer is responsible for protecting the company’s property, staff, and visitors by maintaining a safe and secure environment. This includes monitoring premises, preventing unauthorized access, and responding to emergencies or suspicious activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a security presence.
• Monitor and control access to buildings, gates, and restricted areas.
• Check identification of staff, visitors, and vehicles entering or leaving the premises.
• Report suspicious behavior, safety hazards, and security breaches immediately.
• Record daily activities, incidents, and observations in a security logbook.
• Operate surveillance equipment (e.g., CCTV, alarms) if required.
• Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances quickly and professionally.
• Ensure that fire exits and emergency equipment are accessible and functional.
• Escort visitors or staff when necessary for safety reasons.
• Collaborate with law enforcement when required.

Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE or equivalent; additional security training is an advantage.
• 8–12 years of experience in a security or protective role preferred.
• Physically fit and able to stand or patrol for extended periods.
• Good observation and communication skills.
• Must be honest, alert, disciplined, and reliable.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.

Preferred Qualities:

• Knowledge of basic emergency procedures (fire, theft, accident).
• Familiarity with using radios, CCTV, or metal detectors.
• Neat appearance and courteous demeanor.
• Willingness to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
