Job Title: Secondary School Igbo Language Teacher

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Igbo Language lessons in line with the approved curriculum.
• Teach speaking, reading, writing, comprehension, grammar, and literature in Igbo.
• Promote appreciation of Igbo culture, traditions, and heritage through classroom activities.
• Develop engaging lesson plans that support language acquisition and fluency.
• Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Prepare students for WAEC, NECO, and internal examinations.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and achievement.
• Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages active participation.

Requirements

• Degree in Igbo Language, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
• Relevant teaching certification may be required.
• Experience teaching Igbo Language at the secondary school level is preferred.
• Strong written and spoken proficiency in Igbo and English.
• Good classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to engage students through creative and interactive teaching strategies.
• TRCN certification is an added advantage.
