Job Title: School Cook

About the Role

• A reputable private school is seeking a reliable and experienced School Cook to prepare healthy, hygienic, and well-balanced meals for students and staff.
• The ideal candidate must be passionate about cooking, food safety, and working in a school environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare daily meals for students and staff according to approved menus
• Ensure all meals meet hygiene and nutrition standards
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and food storage areas
• Monitor food inventory and report when restocking is needed
• Adhere to food safety regulations and follow proper food handling procedures
• Support the school in serving meals promptly and in an orderly manner
• Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies as needed
• Coordinate with school management on meal planning and portion control

Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE; catering or food safety certification is an added advantage
• Proven experience as a cook (school preferred)
• Knowledge of healthy, child-friendly meal preparation
• Ability to manage time and serve multiple portions efficiently
• Strong hygiene, cleanliness, and organization habits
• Must reside within or near Owerri or be willing to commute.
