The Kingston Bridge School (KBS) is a new “Grade A” School, strategically located within Ogudu Lagos. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: School Accountant

Location: Ogudu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Management of all accounts/finance related functions.
• Establish and implement a fit- for- purpose accounting system/structure to record and account for all financial transactions, as well as all assets of the school.
• Ensuring compliance with approved policies, procedures, work instructions, controls, etc.
• Manage all financial transactions – including account payables / receivables, records, bookkeeping, etc.
• Facilitate and drive the preparation of periodic business plans (strategic/operational) and budgets,
• Manage the preparation of the payroll, and other related functions.
• Ensure effective implementation of approved budgets – monitor income/expenditure in line with approved budget.
• Produce monthly/periodic financial and budget performance reports.
• Produce accurate information on the school’s financial position – including the preparation of final accounts (balance sheet, profit/loss statements) and etc.
• Ensure that the school complies with all relevant Tax and Pension regulations/laws.
• Manage relationships with relevant external parties -including banks, auditors, tax authorities, etc.
• Provide advice to the Management and staff on financial, tax, pension and other related issues.
• Provide training support and guidance to staff as required to ensure capacity built-up.
• Perform all other duties that may be assigned by management.

Requirements

• BSc / HND in Accounting; professional accountancy certification/membership will be added advantage.
• Previous work experience in a reputable school will be an added advantage.
• Strong attention to details and good analytical skill
• Advanced MS Excel Skills
• Hands on Experience with accounting softwares

Skills / Competencies / Attributes:

• High level of Intergirty/honesty.
• Strong analytical skills and a deep knowledge of accounting/finance, budgeting, cost control, payroll, risk management and relevant regulatory matters.
• A strong business orientation -including good knowledge /experince in business startegic planning. matched with ability to communicate effectively financial implications of plans, options and decisions.
• Excellent IT capability and knowledge of accounting software, applications systems.
• Previous work experience in a reputable school will be an added advantage.
• Excellent communication (well-spoken, written and articulate).
• Creative and flexible.
