Job Title: Sales Representative

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales growth, engaging with customers, and identifying new business opportunities within the healthcare sector.
  • This role focuses on promoting hospital laboratory equipment and consumables to key market areas, including hospitals, diagnostic centers, private laboratories, and research institutions.
  • The ideal candidate will build strong relationships, explore underserved regions, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and field visits.
  • Close deals and ensure customer satisfaction through consistent follow-ups.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets, contributing to overall revenue growth.

Market Focus:

  • Focus on key healthcare sectors, including hospitals, diagnostic centers, and private laboratory facilities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders such as hospital administrators, lab managers, and procurement officers.
  • Identify and explore new market opportunities, including underserved regions.
  • Promote and position hospital laboratory equipment and consumables effectively within these markets.

Customer Engagement:

  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to educate customers on our offerings.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints promptly.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, ensuring their equipment and consumable needs are met.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and submit detailed weekly sales reports, including sales forecasts and customer activity updates.
  • Track and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform sales strategies.
  • Share insights with the team to improve overall business development efforts.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the Business Development, Sales, and Engineering teams to provide tailored solutions to customers.
  • Work closely with the logistics team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.
  • Participate in team meetings to share updates and align on goals.

Key Focus Market Areas:

  • Hospitals: Public and private institutions with a specific focus on laboratories and diagnostic units.
  • Private Laboratory Facilities: Standalone diagnostic centers and pathology labs.
  • Research Institutions: Universities, government agencies, and private laboratories involved in medical research.
  • Healthcare Startups: Emerging labs and facilities requiring guidance on their equipment needs.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Monthly and quarterly sales targets achieved.
  • Number of new clients acquired.
  • Customer retention and satisfaction rates.
  • Timeliness and accuracy of sales reports.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in sales, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and consumables is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably within the healthcare or medical equipment sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent presentation and product demonstration skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to track trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Work Environment:

  • Based in Lagos with frequent travel to customer sites and underserved regions.
  • Fieldwork is a significant component of the role, requiring adaptability and mobility.
