Job Title: Safety Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Summary

• Java Construction is seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable HSE regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential hazards and risks.
• Enforce the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and safety training for workers.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare reports.
• Monitor safe work practices and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation.
• Promote a strong safety culture across construction sites.

Requirements

• HND or B.Sc. in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Relevant HSE certification is an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of construction site safety practices and HSE regulations.
• Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
