Job Summary

• We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Risk Officer to join our team in Abuja.

• The Risk Officer will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating internal and external risks that could hinder the organization’s operations or reputation.
• This individual will support the development of risk management frameworks, monitor risk exposures, and collaborate with various departments to ensure effective risk mitigation strategies are in place.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify potential risks across operational, financial, strategic, and market areas.
• Perform regular risk assessments and maintain an up-to-date risk register.
• Evaluate the likelihood and impact of identified risks.
• Develop and implement risk monitoring tools and dashboards.
• Track key risk indicators (KRIs) and escalate issues as necessary.
• Prepare periodic risk reports for senior management and stakeholders.
• Support the development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures.
• Ensure all departments comply with the company’s risk management standards.
• Promote risk awareness across the organization.
• Collaborate with relevant teams to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
• Support internal audit activities by providing risk-related insights and ensuring findings are addressed.
• Work closely with business units to identify emerging risks and ensure proper controls are in place.
• Support incident management, root cause analysis, and remediation planning.
• Assist in business continuity planning and crisis response strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in risk management, internal control, or audit roles.
• Familiarity with risk frameworks, methodologies, and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Experience in the financial services industry is a strong advantage.
