We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Resident Site Engineer

Location: Obalende, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting to Mercian 3 Nigeria Ltd as Architect and Project Manager

The role

• The successful candidate will provide daily engineering oversight as additional contractors mobilise, monitor compliance with approved drawings and specifications, and maintain reliable inspection and progress records across multiple buildings and work fronts.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect foundations, reinforcement, formwork, concrete works and other construction activities; coordinate consultant inspections at required stages.
• Coordinate contractors’ work programmes and interfaces, monitor progress and escalate delays, defects and departures from approved drawings.
• Maintain a site diary, dated photographs, inspection and test records, drawing registers and an outstanding actions register.
• Submit daily updates and structured weekly reports to Mercian 3; monitor safety practices and follow up corrective actions.

Candidate requirements

• Degree or HND in Civil or Structural Engineering, with at least 7 years of relevant construction site experience.
• Proven supervision of reinforced-concrete residential buildings and experience coordinating several contractors on one site.
• Strong drawing interpretation, quality control, documentation and written reporting skills; proficiency in Excel and ability to review CAD drawings.
• COREN registration preferred.
• Integrity, sound technical judgement and consistent site attendance are essential.

Remuneration
Remuneration will be agreed based on qualifications and experience.
