Job Title: Research Writer

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Role Summary

• Translate research into high-impact academic papers, white papers, and thought leadership to strengthen the organisation’s influence in academic, policy, and public spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce 4 – 6 white papers annually
• Write and co-author peer-reviewed academic papers
• Draft opinion and thought leadership pieces
• Conduct original research and contribute to the newsletter
• Represent the organisation at conferences and policy forums
• Support fundraising with research-backed content
• Collaborate with researchers and mentor interns.

Key Requirements

• Excellent research, writing, and editing skills
• Knowledge of African governance, development, or indigenous systems
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Preferred:

• Top-tier journal experience
• Mainstream media writing experience
• Strong academic network
• Familiarity with the Nigerian context
• Grant writing or multilingual ability.
