Job Summary

• We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Research & Development (R&D) Officer to join our automobile manufacturing team.
• The successful candidate will support the research, design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of automotive products, components, and manufacturing processes.
• The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills with a passion for innovation and product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research to support the design and development of new automotive products and technologies.
• Participate in the design, testing, and evaluation of vehicle components, systems, and prototypes.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare technical reports, research findings, engineering documentation, and product specifications.
• Conduct product performance testing, data analysis, and validation of new designs.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, and Technical Design teams on product development projects.
• Monitor emerging automotive technologies, industry trends, and best practices to support innovation.
• Recommend product and process improvements based on research findings and customer feedback.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, engineering specifications, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of research activities, experiments, and project progress.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing process.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–5 years’ relevant experience in Research & Development, Product Development, Engineering, or Manufacturing.
• Knowledge of automotive systems, manufacturing processes, and product development principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and engineering design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar tools is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, research, and technical report-writing skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Membership of a relevant professional engineering body will be an added advantage.
