Job Title: Research & Development (R&D) Manager

Job Description

• The R&D Manager will lead the planning, development, and execution of innovative projects to improve vehicle design, performance, safety, and efficiency.
• This role requires overseeing research initiatives, managing development teams, and ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards while driving innovation to maintain a competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate R&D projects from concept to final product implementation.
• Supervise the design, testing, and validation of automotive systems and components.
• Identify and integrate new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with production, quality control, and technical teams to align R&D output with business objectives.
• Oversee prototype development and ensure proper performance evaluation.
• Monitor industry trends and competitor innovations to guide R&D strategies.
• Prepare and present progress reports and technical documentation to senior management.
• Manage R&D budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, IATF 16949).
• Mentor and develop R&D team members to enhance technical expertise.

Job Requirements
Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Professional certifications in R&D, Automotive Technology, or Project Management are an advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5–8 years of automotive R&D experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
• Innovative mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of testing and validation procedures for automotive components.

Salary
N350,000 – N400,000 Monthly.
