Job Title: Reinforcement / Iron Fitter Foreman

Locations: Lekki, Ikoyi & Banana Island axis, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-Time

Summary

• Midela Luxury Homes Limited is recruiting an experienced Reinforcement / Iron Fitter Foreman to supervise reinforcement and steel fixing activities across our construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate iron fitters and reinforcement workers on site.
• Interpret structural drawings, reinforcement details, bar bending schedules, and site instructions.
• Supervise the cutting, bending, placing, tying, and fixing of reinforcement bars.
• Ensure reinforcement is installed according to approved structural drawings and specifications.
• Check bar sizes, spacing, laps, anchorage, links, cover, and positioning before concrete casting.
• Coordinate reinforcement works with Carpenter Foremen, Site Engineers, Masons, and concrete casting teams.
• Ensure reinforcement is properly secured and supported before concrete placement.
• Identify and correct reinforcement defects or deviations before casting.
• Monitor the use and handling of reinforcement materials to minimise wastage.
• Coordinate manpower and daily reinforcement activities according to project schedules.
• Report progress, material requirements, and technical issues to the Site Engineer or Project Manager.
• Ensure reinforcement materials, tools, and equipment are properly handled and stored.
• Maintain compliance with site safety and quality requirements.
• Ensure the work area is kept safe and organised.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years’ practical experience in reinforcement/steel fixing works.
• Proven experience supervising iron fitters on building construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete construction.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and reinforcement details.
• Good understanding of bar sizes, spacing, laps, anchorage, links, and concrete cover.
• Ability to lead and coordinate a team effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Must be physically fit and willing to work on active construction sites.

Remuneration
Remuneration is open for discussion and will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and suitability for the role.
