Job Title: Quality Manager

Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to oversee quality assurance, quality control, and food safety across our food manufacturing operations.
• The successful candidate will ensure products meet established quality standards, comply with regulatory requirements, and maintain high levels of product safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality management and food safety systems, including GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000.
• Ensure compliance with NAFDAC, SON, and other applicable food industry regulations.
• Oversee quality inspections, laboratory testing, and approval of raw materials, packaging, and finished products.
• Manage internal audits, regulatory inspections, customer audits, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Establish supplier quality standards and monitor incoming materials.
• Investigate customer complaints, product defects, and non-conformances, ensuring effective root cause analysis and resolution.
• Maintain product traceability, recall procedures, laboratory standards, and equipment calibration.
• Lead and develop the quality team and train employees on food safety, hygiene, and quality procedures.
• Monitor quality performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and product rejection.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science and Technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within food manufacturing or FMCG, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and food safety regulations.
• Proven experience with NAFDAC compliance, regulatory inspections, and customer audits.
• HACCP and ISO 22000/FSSC 22000 certification is strongly preferred; auditor certification is an advantage.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant quality management or ERP systems.

Working Conditions

• The role is based in a manufacturing plant in Lagos and may require extended hours, shifts, or weekend work depending on production needs.
