Job Title: Quality / HSE Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary

  • The Quality / HSE Officer will oversee the quality assurance of aviation fuel (Jet A1) and implement health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices within our terminal and tank farm operations.
  • The role combines quality control, safety oversight, and operational monitoring to maintain fuel integrity and regulatory compliance

Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct routine quality checks on aviation fuel (density, temperature, water contamination, and sampling).
  • Ensure compliance with JIG, API, EI, and DPR fuel quality standards.
  • Monitor fuel storage, transfer, and handling to prevent contamination.
  • Verify calibration and proper functioning of measurement and quality control equipment.

HSE & Safety Management:

  • Implement and enforce HSE policies and procedures across fuel handling and terminal operations.
  • Conduct safety inductions, toolbox meetings, and operational safety inspections.
  • Support incident reporting, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Lead emergency response drills and promote a strong safety culture.

Operational Oversight:

  • Monitor receipt, storage, filtration, and dispatch processes to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Inspect tanks, pumps, pipelines, hoses, filtration units, and loading systems for safety and compliance.
  • Identify non-conformances and recommend corrective measures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • HND/BSc in Industrial Chemistry, Petroleum Studies, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–4 years experience in quality control and HSE within aviation fuel, downstream oil & gas, or terminal operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of Jet A1 fuel quality standards and testing procedures.
  • HSE Certifications (NEBOSH, OSHA, IATA, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with DPR regulations and quality management systems.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Salary
Negotiable.
