Job Title: Quality Assurance Supervisor

Job Description

  • This role will be responsible for carrying out routine analysis on raw materials and finished products, and ensure tests results are timely, accurate, and meet all regulatory requirements and specifications prior to release of products of the company.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To ensure that all raw materials and packaging materials and other consumables received for production are inspected and analyzed.
  • To carrying out routine microbiological and physicochemical analysis on all finished product samples to ascertain their quality.
  • To ensure routine chemical analysis on boiler water samples for the treatment of the boiler system to maintain its efficiency.
  • Responsible for carrying out swab analysis of process equipments, work surfaces, trolleys and packaging materials to determine the level of microbial contamination.
  • Presenting the results of Laboratory analyses to the Quality Assurance Manager for actions and decision making.
  • Test in-process products and communicate the necessary adjustment to production personnel so they can make the necessary adjustment to meet finished products specification.
  • Ensure that the production environment is hygienic and safe for production
  • To carrying out routine weight check analysis on in process products to confirm conformity with set standards.
  • To ensure that all work surfaces, process equipment and trolleys are cleaned before and after production.
  • Checking the bulk milk tanks and cold rooms to ensure that they are maintained clean and safe.
  • Responsible for monitoring storage temperature of products in the cold rooms and raw milk bulk milk tanks to ensure conformity with all standards.

Requirements

  • A good Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science & Technology, Dairy Technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Chemistry.
  • Minimum of 2 years hands on experience in dairy plant or food industry with some supervisory experience is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
