Job Title: Project Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Our client seeks to hire a Project Officer who plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and completion of projects. This position involves coordinating various project activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and government regulations. The Project Officer serves as a key liaison between the government agencies, subcontractors, and internal project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with office staff and stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans.
  • Coordinate project activities, resources, and timelines to ensure successful execution.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets and monitor all aspects of the project.
  • Ensure adherence to all contractual obligations, regulations, and guidelines set by the government agencies.
  • Monitor and report on project compliance, identifying and addressing any potential issues.
  • Act as a primary point of contact between the clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
  • Communicate project status, updates, and potential risks to stakeholders.
  • Develop reports or work with stakeholders to do same.
  • Facilitate regular meetings to review progress, discuss challenges, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges in project execution and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with the project team to address and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare regular reports on project status, including milestones achieved, budget utilization, and risk assessments.
  • Assist in resource allocation, ensuring that teams have the necessary tools, equipment, and support.
  • Monitor and report on resource utilization to optimize efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field e.g., Business Administration
  • 3 – 7 years work experience.
  • Proven experience in managing projects execution preferably within government contracting.
  • Strong understanding of government regulations, compliance, and contract management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when required.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
