Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Objectives

• Are you passionate about driving sustainability through waste recycling projects? We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager to spearhead our efforts in planning, executing, and delivering sustainable waste recycling initiatives.
• Your extensive experience in project management, coupled with deep knowledge of civil, construction, and electromechanical aspects, will be pivotal in ensuring the successful completion of these projects.

Principal Duties / Responsibilities
Strategy & Policy Development:

• Develop project strategy/business plans aligned with corporate objectives and ensure their effective implementation.
• Establish standards operating procedures (SOPs) and monitoring mechanisms to achieve project objectives.

Project Planning:

• Develop comprehensive project plans, considering timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, while addressing unique challenges of waste recycling projects.

Stakeholder Relations & Management:

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with local authorities, suppliers, and community stakeholders to ensure project success and regulatory compliance.

Financial Management:

• Prepare and monitor the annual operating budget for the Projects Unit, ensuring adherence to the planned budget.
• Monitor project budgets, control expenses, and report on financial performance.

Quality Assurance & Health and Safety:

• Implement quality control and safety measures to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains, fostering a culture of safety throughout the project.

Procurement:

• Collaborate with the procurement team to source materials and services required for project execution.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor risk factors throughout the project lifecycle.

Information & Reporting:

• Stay updated on legislations, regulations, and best practices to enhance project operations.
• Prepare and submit periodic reports, and deliver project status reports to Executive Management and stakeholders.

Employee Performance & Development:

• Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary project team, ensuring attainment of project goals.
• Conduct performance appraisals, provide input for career development, and identify training needs for the team.

Job Requirements
To be successful in the role, the candidates should meet the following requirements:

Educational Background and Experience:

• Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Membership of a state recognized Professional body.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in project management, with a focus on Civil Works, Construction
• Management, or Electro Mechanical Engineering.
• Project management certifications preferred (PMP, PRINCE2).

Skills:

• Proven track record of managing complex projects, preferably in waste recycling or sustainability initiatives.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Flexibility to travel and work across states and countries
