The Rotary Healthy Communities Challenge (RHCC) project is a four-country project which supports governments to implement integrated community case management, a globally recognized strategy to equip community health workers with training to diagnose and treat malaria, pneumonia, and diarrhea. The RHCC project is jointly funded by the Rotary International Foundation and the Gates Foundation. In Nigeria, the project is led by a country committee, implemented by PATH, and the advocacy and community mobilization components led by Rotary District 9111 for the RHCC project.

The goal of the project is to reduce severe disease and death among children under five years and is focused on improving maternal and child health outcomes by strengthening community health systems across selected communities in Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Finance Officer (RHCC Project)

Location: Lagos (To work remotely and with weekly virtual /in-person meetings in the Lagos office with Country Committee)
Employment Type: Full-time (18-month contract)
Reports To: Project Manager / Finance Committee Chairman

About the Job

  • We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Finance Officer to manage the project financial operations and ensure compliance with donor and organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project budgets and financial planning of Rotary District 9111 for the RHCC project
  • Monitor expenditures against approved budgets
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with donor financial guidelines (e.g., USAID, Global Fund, World Bank standards)
  • Process payments, maintain accurate financial records, and manage cash flow, Support internal and external audits
  • Reconcile bank statements and maintain accounting documentation
  • Assist in financial forecasting and cost analysis
  • Ensure quality assurance and risk management
  • Strengthen financial controls and risk management systems

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ANAN) is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project finance management, preferably in health or donor-funded projects
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of Nigeria’s financial regulations and experience with donor compliance (e.g., USAID, Global Fund, World Bank projects)
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
