Job Title: Project Accountant

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

• Ensure effective project financial reporting as well as accurate and timely disbursements on projects
• Follow up to ensure receivables are paid as at when due.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Review project request memos in line with project budget and treat appropriately
• Proactively follow up on RNL receivables and provide reports as appropriate
• Establish useful relationships with key personnel in client organisations responsible for payment of RNL’s invoices
• Review cheques written against the approved payment list on projects
• Validate supporting documents and propriety of various transaction types
• Ensure proper accounting record keeping on all RNL projects
• Prepare and submit accurate and timely weekly project status reports
• Provide relevant updates from the accounts team to key project personnel and vice versa
• Creating all purchase orders and obtain relevant sign off before issuing to vendors/ contractors
• Review purchase requisitions and supporting documents
• Ensure implementation of project monitoring systems.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Timeliness and accuracy of reports
• Timely compilation of annual budgets
• Budget / Actual variance
• Due process in authorising disbursements.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with 2 – 5 years work experience.
