Job Description

  • We are seeking an experienced, highly organised and motivated Programmes, Partnerships and Communications Manager to support the growth and development of the Nigeria Chapter into a leading network for board directors on climate and nature governance in Nigeria.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director to grow individual and corporate membership, develop and deliver high-quality programmes for board directors, strengthen the Chapter’s communications, and build strategic partnerships across government, academia, the private sector and development organisations.

Role Summary

  • The Programmes, Partnerships and Communications Manager will support the strategic growth and day-to-day delivery of CGI Nigeria’s programmes, membership, communications, partnerships and stakeholder engagement activities. T
  • he candidate will be responsible for translating strategic priorities into effective programmes and initiatives that expand the Chapter’s reach, strengthen member engagement and enhance its visibility and impact.

Qualification and Experience

  • Candidates should have a First Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Policy, Sustainability or a related field, with 5–7 years of relevant experience in programme management, communications, stakeholder engagement, business development or partnership management, preferably with experience working with senior executives or board members, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation and report-writing abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating executive-level events.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow, engage and retain individual and corporate members.
  • Build relationships with senior executives and convert prospective members into active members while tracking membership targets.
  • Develop and deliver an annual programme strategy addressing emerging climate, nature and governance priorities for Nigerian boards.
  • Plan, coordinate and evaluate conferences, webinars, roundtables, workshops and board development programmes.
  • Implement the Chapter’s communications strategy in collaboration with the Public Relations Consultant across digital and other communication channels.
  • Develop and promote high-quality presentations, reports, articles and thought leadership content to strengthen the Chapter’s profile.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with government, regulators, academia, development partners and the private sector.
  • Identify partnership, fundraising and sponsorship opportunities while coordinating engagement with key local and global stakeholders.
  • Support the Executive Director in the effective day-to-day management and coordination of Secretariat activities.
  • Coordinate governance meetings, maintain accurate records and ensure timely follow-up and completion of agreed actions.

The candidate should also possess the following competencies:

  • Executive Engagement & Relationship Management: Confidence in engaging board directors and senior executives, with strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Programme & Organisational Excellence: Strong programme planning, coordination, prioritisation and ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Ownership & Results Orientation: Self-motivated, proactive and resourceful, with strong follow-through, accountability and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Strategic Purpose & Impact: Strong interest in climate and nature governance, with a commitment to contributing to meaningful organisational and stakeholder impact.
