Job Title: Production Chemist (Alcoholic Beverages – Bitters, Gin, Spirits & Whisky)

Job Summary

• The Production Chemist will be responsible for the formulation, blending, and quality control of alcoholic beverages, including bitters, gin, spirits, and whisky.
• The ideal candidate must possess extensive industry experience, strong technical expertise in beverage formulation, and a solid understanding of regulatory and quality standards within the alcoholic beverage sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and formulate alcoholic beverages in line with company specifications and industry standards.
• Oversee blending, mixing, and flavor profiling to ensure product consistency and quality.
• Implement and maintain strict compliance with National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) regulations and other relevant standards.
• Conduct laboratory analysis and quality control testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
• Monitor and optimize production processes for efficiency, safety, and consistency.
• Maintain accurate documentation of formulations, batch records, and quality reports.
• Collaborate with production and commercial teams on product development and improvement initiatives.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and utilization of chemicals and raw materials.
• Identify production challenges and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ proven experience in the alcoholic beverage industry (bitters, gin, spirits, or whisky production).
• Strong expertise in formulation, blending, and production processes of alcoholic beverages.
• In-depth knowledge of quality control systems and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience operating laboratory and production equipment.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Ability to work independently and within a structured production environment.
