Job Title: Optometry Intern

Job Summary

• We areseeking a motivated and compassionate Optometry Intern to join our clinical team.
• This role offers hands-on experience supporting eye-care services while working under the supervision of qualified optometrists.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with patient intake, appointment preparation, and preliminary eye assessments.
• Support optometrists during eye examinations, including visual acuity tests, refraction support, and diagnostic procedures.
• Prepare, clean, and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and optical instruments.
• Record patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Provide courteous guidance to patients on appointment processes, eyewear options, and follow-up care.
• Assist with dispensing, fitting, adjustment, and basic care instructions for spectacles and contact lenses.
• Help manage stock of frames, lenses, contact lenses, and clinical supplies.
• Follow all clinic policies, health and safety standards, and professional ethical guidelines.
• Participate in training, supervision sessions, and other learning opportunities.

Requirements

• Currently graduated from an accredited Optometry programme.
• Strong interest in eye health, patient care, and clinical learning.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
• High attention to detail, professionalism, and respect for patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic computer and record-keeping skills.
