Job Title: Operations Officer

Job Summary

• We are seeking a detail-oriented Operations Officer to support vessel operations, safety management, and regulatory compliance.
• The successful candidate will assist in monitoring the Safety Management System, maintaining fleet compliance records, tracking vessel certificates, and supporting safe and efficient maritime operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) in driving compliance and HSE initiatives.
• Monitor the Safety Management System and identify areas requiring corrective action.
• Support vessel safety and pollution prevention activities.
• Assist with regular inspections and compliance monitoring.
• Support compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Help ensure audit requirements for vessels and shore-based operations are met.
• Maintain daily vessel reports and escalate operational issues where necessary.
• Monitor the status and validity of fleet certificates.
• Liaise with the Crewing Unit to ensure vessels are adequately manned in accordance with their Safe Manning Certificates.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and operational documentation.
• Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A degree in Nautical Science is preferred.
• Certificate of Competency (Deck).
• Demonstrated experience in vessel and shipping operations.
• Basic knowledge of the maritime industry.
• Good reporting, planning, and organisational skills.
• Strong document and records management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• High level of confidentiality and commitment to safety.
