Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced and responsible Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a logistics and fleet company with buses operating across Nigeria.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth fleet operations, effective driver management, vehicle maintenance, compliance, and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the company’s fleet and transportation activities.
• Coordinate and monitor the movement and deployment of buses across various routes in Nigeria.
• Supervise drivers, operational staff, and other field personnel.
• Ensure drivers comply with assigned schedules, routes, safety standards, and company policies.
• Monitor vehicle availability, utilisation, and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate routine and preventive maintenance of all buses and ensure timely repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle servicing, repairs, breakdowns, and maintenance costs.
• Monitor fuel consumption and investigate unusual or excessive usage.
• Ensure all vehicles have valid documentation, licences, insurance, and regulatory requirements.
• Respond promptly to operational issues, breakdowns, delays, accidents, and other emergencies.
• Develop and implement effective processes to minimise downtime and operational disruptions.
• Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and operational facilities.
• Work closely with drivers, mechanics, vendors, and management to resolve operational challenges.
• Prepare regular operational reports covering fleet performance, maintenance, fuel, incidents, and driver activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, road safety requirements, and applicable transport regulations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Fleet Availability: Maintain a minimum of 90–95% fleet availability.
• Vehicle Downtime: Reduce avoidable vehicle downtime and ensure prompt resolution of breakdowns.
• Preventive Maintenance Compliance: Achieve at least 95% compliance with scheduled vehicle maintenance.
• Driver Compliance: Maintain high compliance with company policies, schedules, safety, and operational procedures.
• Fuel Efficiency: Monitor and control fuel consumption within approved benchmarks.
• Incident Management: Minimise accidents, breakdowns, delays, and other preventable operational incidents.
• Operational Reporting: Ensure 100% timely and accurate submission of required operational reports.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet, logistics, transportation, or operations management.
• Experience managing commercial vehicles / buses and drivers is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet operations.
• Good leadership, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to operational emergencies.
• Must be willing to travel when required.
• Proximity to Sangotedo / Ibeju-Lekki is highly important.

Salary
N300,000 – N400,000 Net Monthly.
