St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is a 64-bed hospital located in Ogungbade off New Ife road in Ibadan. St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is the vision of the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena (Italy). We offer various medical services such as: General medicine, internal medicine, O & G, Laboratory, and Radiology, to mention just a few. The hospital is run in collaboration with foreign partners. Job Title: Nurse Assistant / Auxiliary Nurse

Job Summary

• The successful candidate will assist licensed nurses with patient care, perform various administrative tasks, and provide support to ensure the smooth operation of our healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Care:

• Assist licensed nurses with vital signs, bathing, dressing, and feeding patients.
• Help patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning.
• Assist with range-of-motion exercises and other therapeutic interventions.

Administrative Tasks:

• Answer phone calls, respond to messages, and direct inquiries to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, reports, and charts.
• Assist with data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks as needed.

Support Services:

• Restock supplies, linens, and equipment as needed.
• Assist with maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols.

Communication and Teamwork:

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Collaborate with licensed nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
• Participate in shift reports, care conferences, and other team meetings.

Requirements
Education and Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 – 8 years of work experience.
• Completion of a nurse assistant training program or equivalent experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassion, empathy, and patience when interacting with patients and families.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic medical records (EMRs) systems.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift, push, and pull patients, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods.
• Ability to work in a variety of settings, including patient rooms, treatment areas, and administrative offices.

• Varies, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Salary
N30,000 – N50,000 / month.
