We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Mechanical / Piping Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning Engineer

Responsibilities

• This position requires working in a challenging offshore industrial environment on platforms or vessels.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and piping systems, including their installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Expertise in working with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to manage and coordinate a team and liaise with multiple stakeholders.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, and other engineering documents.
• Excellent organizational skills for managing detailed documentation and procedures.
• Willingness to work in a demanding offshore environment.
• Develop and review pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures, test protocols, and checklists for all mechanical and piping systems.
• Manage and execute all pre-commissioning activities, including line flushing, cleaning, hydro-testing, pneumatic testing, and chemical cleaning.
• Supervise the proper bolting, tensioning, and torquing of all flanged connections.
• Coordinate and lead system line walks and punch list close-out with client representatives to ensure systems are complete and ready for handover.
• Prepare and manage all necessary pre-commissioning and commissioning documentation, including test packs, reports, and the final handover dossier.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and operational issues that arise during the pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
• Ensure all activities are performed in strict accordance with project specifications, P&IDs, and applicable safety regulations and industry codes (e.g., ASME, API).
• Liaise with the client’s operations and maintenance teams for the smooth and efficient handover of commissioned systems.
• Provide technical guidance and support to Pipe Fitters, Mechanical Technicians, and other team members during the project.

Requirements

• A relevant technical Degree in Engineering is required, with a professional certification in a mechanical or piping field being an advantage.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical and piping engineering, with at least 3 years specifically in offshore pre-commissioning and commissioning in the oil and gas environment, with a proven track record of working on the Bonga FPSO.
• The candidate must hold valid offshore certifications such as BOSIET, OSP, and a valid medical certificate.
