Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, installation, and optimization of production lines for toothpaste, tube filling, and toothbrush manufacturing equipment
• Work closely with production and quality assurance teams to maintain seamless and efficient processes.
• Serve as the main technical contact, addressing client needs and ensuring machinery operates to client specifications.
• Oversee the commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems used in oral care production.
• Provide expert guidance on equipment operations and maintenance to ensure high efficiency and minimal downtime.
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as maintenance procedures, operating instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring deliverables are met promptly and within financial constraints.
• Ensure that production meets industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct analyses on any mechanical failures or down times, implementing preventive measures to improve equipment reliability.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and technical staff in the operation and maintenance of advanced manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 8-  10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the oral care industry, focusing on toothpaste, tube filling, or toothbrush production.
• Strong experience in the design, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical systems in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and mechanical simulation tools.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a client-focused approach to technical challenges.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance in manufacturing environments.
• Strong project management skills, including experience managing multiple projects.
